Brown Sugar Cake
Ingredients:
2 cups brown sugar
1-3/4 cups sifted flour
2 tablespoons of tea. Cinnamon
2 tablespoons of tea. Ginger
1 teaspoon of tea. Cardamom
1 teaspoon of tea. ground cloves
1 teaspoon of tea. Soda
1 teaspoon of tea. Salt
3 / 4 cup butter
2 eggs
1 / 2 cup butter or margarine, melted
1 cup chopped walnuts, if desired.
Butterscotch Glaze Topping:
1 / 4 cup butter or margarine
1 / 4 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons milk
1 cup sifted powdered sugar
1 teaspoon of tea. Vanilla extract or rum
Preparation:
In a large bowl mix all dry ingredients, butter, eggs and butter. Beat well. Nuts, if necessary. Bake in greased and floured Bundt Pan Festival at 325 degrees for 50 minutes, and fall on a wire rack or plate to complete cooling.
Garnish with caramel butter icing:
In a saucepan combine butter, brown sugar and milk. Bring to a boil. Add the powdered sugar and extract. Whisk until smooth. More milk can be added to the desired consistency.
